Are you a Dentist looking to make a meaningful impact in a unique healthcare setting?

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Dentist to join our multidisciplinary team at Amberley Health Centre on a casual basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver high-quality dental care to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel while working in a supportive and professional clinical environment.

In this role, you will provide comprehensive dental services and play an important part in maintaining the oral health and operational readiness of Defence members.

About the Amberley Health Centre

RAAF Base Amberley, the largest Air Force Base in Australia and approximately 50 minutes from Brisbane city. It provides operational and maintenance support for the precision strike element of the Air Combat Group, F/A-18F Super Hornet aircraft.  Supports the strategic lift capability for the Australian military’s KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT), C-17 Globemaster III heavy lift aircraft and C-27J Spartan battlefield airlifters.  The health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health and pharmaceutical services to over 6500 RAAF members. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Thursday (depending on role requirements), and a half day (5.5 hours) Friday. 

 

What you’ll do

  • Deliver preventative and emergency dental care including examinations, restorations and minor oral surgery
  • Perform procedures such as x-rays, extractions, root canal treatments and prosthodontic management
  • Work collaboratively with dental, medical and nursing teams to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
  • Support the oral health and dental readiness of Defence personnel

 

What you bring

  • Current, unrestricted registration as a Dentist (General) with AHPRA
  • Minimum 2 years’ full-time post graduate clinical chair-side experience within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent)
  • Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certification
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in line with AHPRA requirements
  • Australian Citizenship to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance
