About the  Amberley  Health Centre  

RAAF Base Amberley, the largest Air Force Base in Australia and approximately 50 minutes from Brisbane city. It provides operational and maintenance support for the precision strike element of the Air Combat Group, F/A-18F Super Hornet aircraft.  Supports the strategic lift capability for the Australian military’s KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT), C-17 Globemaster III heavy lift aircraft and C-27J Spartan battlefield airlifters.  The health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health and pharmaceutical services to over 6500 RAAF members. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Thursday (depending on role requirements), and a half day (5.5 hours) Friday. 

 

What you’ll do  

  • Work casual shifts between monday to Friday covering planned and sick leave providing advice on all aspects of physical training and rehabilitation including: 
  • Making recommendations on members fitness prior to medical review boards 
  • Engagement of other allied health professionals as necessary 
  • Advice to authorised personnel as to current and future fitness of Eligible Personnel for military service 
  • Assist Allied Health professionals with assessment, treatment, training and maintenance of resources. 
  • Coordinate patient administration, records, and clinic operations   
  • Support multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient service delivery   
  • Ensure compliance with Defence policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards Shape  


What you bring  

  • At least 2 years’ full-time or part time equivalent post-graduate experience in rehabilitation exercise prescription within the last 5 years. 
  • Tertiary qualification in Exercise or Sport Science as determined by Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA). 
  • Current membership with ESSA. 
  • Recent engagement in Continuing Professional Development activities in accordance with ESSA. 
  • A current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (HLTAID009) 
  • Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Baseline Security Clearance
