About the Amberley Health Centre 

RAAF Base Amberley, the largest Air Force Base in Australia and approximately 50 minutes from Brisbane city. It provides operational and maintenance support for the precision strike element of the Air Combat Group, F/A-18F Super Hornet aircraft.  Supports the strategic lift capability for the Australian military’s KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT), C-17 Globemaster III heavy lift aircraft and C-27J Spartan battlefield airlifters.  The health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health and pharmaceutical services to over 6500 RAAF members. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Thursday (depending on role requirements), and a half day (5.5 hours) Friday. 

 

What you’ll do 

  • Keep the clinic running smoothly by providing fast, accurate, and professional clerical and administrative support to health staff and patients.  
  • Manage electronic and hard copy health records and data in accordance with Defence policies, privacy requirements, and compliance standards.  
  • Coordinate appointments and liaise effectively with internal and external health service providers to support continuity of care and timely access to patient information.  
  • Prepare reports, update health and personnel management systems, and assist with auditing activities to support operational and compliance requirements.  
  • Support day-to-day clinic operations through filing, mail distribution, photocopying, ordering stationery and stores, and processing supply requests. 

 

What you bring 

  • Minimum of 1 year of full-time (or part-time equivalent) experience in an administrative role. (Medical setting highly desirable) 
  • Completion of a medical terminology course from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), or willingness to complete 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. 
  • Sound computer literacy and experience with electronic health record systems highly regarded.
