About the Health Centre
Home to the Department of Defence Headquarters, Airforce Headquarters and Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) which is a tri-service military academy. The Health Centre opened mid-2022 and is a large facility. It services approximately 7000 military personnel, including trainee officers from both ADFA and Royal Military College. There is a 24-bed low dependency ward which operates 24/7. Services provided include primary medical, aviation & underwater medical, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy. Defence Force Recruitment for medical officers is in addition to health centre roles. Standard hours of operation are generally 0800-1600 Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).
This role is primarily Monday to Friday (day shift) within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. After-hours, weekend and on-call shifts may be required depending on role requirements and base location.
What you’ll do
- Delivering safe and accurate dispensing services in line with clinical standards
- Managing medication inventory and supporting efficient pharmacy operations
- Promoting safe and effective use of medications for patients and clinicians
- Providing technical advice and support to health practitioners
- Ensuring compliance with legislation, Defence policies, and quality standards
What you bring
- Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a pharmacist
- Minimum 2 years’ post-internship experience in hospital, community, or defence pharmacy
- Strong understanding of medication safety, dispensing, and inventory management
- Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
- Commitment to ongoing CPD and professional standards
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Membership of PSA or SHPA (desirable)
- Australian Citizenship to obtain required security clearance
