About Cerberus Health Centre
Located at HMAS Cerberus in Westernport (adjacent to Crib Point on the Mornington Peninsula). This Naval base has approximately 4000 members and is the primary training establishment for young recruits (about 6000 personnel trained annually), averaging 800 trainees onboard at any one time. The health centre provides primary medical, outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical services. It contains a 30 bed low dependency ward which operates 24/7. The standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts). The facility is also responsible for the provision of after-hours services to ADF personnel on the Mornington Peninsula.
Your Impact
We are seeking a Medical Officer/General Practitioner to join us in either a Fixed Term Full Time or Permanent Part Time capacity.
As a Medical Officer, you will:
- Deliver primary medical care in line with professional standards and Defence policies
- Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to support Defence personnel
- Assess fitness for duty and provide pre/post-deployment medical support
- Provide medical technical advice to Defence leadership
- Work across outpatient and inpatient care settings as needed
What You’ll Need
- FRACGP, FACRRM, or Vocational Registration
- Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner
- Minimum 2 years’ full time (or part time equivalent) GP experience in the last 5 years
- Australian Citizen – for Baseline Security Clearance requirements
