ADF Health Services provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia. ABOUT THE ROLE
As a psychologist, you'll play a vital role within a multidisciplinary team, providing crucial mental health support to active ADF members. Your responsibilities will include:
conducting initial assessments, administering psychometric tests, and developing personalized treatment plans to address each individual's unique needs. You’ll have the autonomy to manage your own caseload while collaborating with your team on risk assessments, crisis intervention, and developing comprehensive treatment strategies. LOCATION
Edinburgh Health Centre is located 25km North of Adelaide, at RAAF Base Edinburgh. This super-base accommodates 3500 personnel from the Australian Army and RAAF, as well as being home to the RAAF Institute of Aviation Medicine. The health centre operates a 16 bed low dependency ward 24/7. It also provides primary medical, aviation medical, nursing, dental, physiotherapy, mental health, pharmaceutical and rehabilitation services. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).
ABOUT YOU
As the ideal applicant you will have:
- A Current, unconditional, and unrestricted registration as a psychologist.
- At least 2 years’ post-graduate experience in mental health within the last 5 years, including expertise in conducting comprehensive assessments and delivering evidence-based Focussed Psychological Strategies.
- A current HLTAID009 Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certificate.
- Familiarity with state/territory policies, national standards, and the ADF Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2018-2023 is considered advantageous.
- Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Defence security clearance.
