About the role

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide quality clinical care to patients whilst ensuring adherence to established standards and protocols. You will develop, implement, and regularly review patient care plans based on ongoing assessments and collaboration with the healthcare team.

In this role you will:

  • Liaise with physicians, other health professionals, and support staff to coordinate patient management and optimize treatment outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, psychological, and social needs, identifying any changes or concerns and initiating appropriate interventions.
  • Coordinate outpatient and inpatient treatments, including diagnostic procedures, therapies, medications, and follow-up care, in alignment with prescribed treatment plans.
  • Monitor patients' response to treatment and interventions, evaluating effectiveness and modifying care plans as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records.

 

Roster Details

This role operates under a rotational roster, with the successful candidate primarily on standby for night duty and late shifts.

 

The Location

Edinburgh Health Centre is located 25km North of Adelaide, at RAAF Base Edinburgh. This super-base accommodates 3500 personnel from the Australian Army and RAAF, as well as being home to the RAAF Institute of Aviation Medicine.  The health centre operates a 16-bed low dependency ward 24/7.  It also provides primary medical, aviation medical, nursing, dental, physiotherapy, mental health, pharmaceutical and rehabilitation services. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).

 

About You

As the ideal applicant you will have a demonstrated clinical expertise, strong critical thinking skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Commitment to delivering patient-centred care with compassion and empathy.
  • A current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • A minimum of 2 years’ full-time equivalent, post graduate experience working in an acute care, primary health care, or military setting within the last 5 years.
  • Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
  • A current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (HLTAID009).
  • Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Defence security clearance.
