As a Central Sterilising Services Department (CSSD) Technician at Enoggera Health Centre, you will be responsible for performing sterilisation and disinfection of reusable medical and dental devices within hospital, health, and dental clinic environments. You will ensure the safe storage and management of sterile goods for clinical use, maintaining compliance with Defence policies, Australian Standards, and National Health and Medical Research Council guidelines.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will advise clinical staff on sterilisation practices and contribute to delivering high-quality, safe healthcare services to Australian Defence Force personnel.

This is a Casual role, with hours generally Monday to Friday between 07:30 AM and 3:30 PM (depending on role requirements).

About ADF Health Services
In partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia. 

This includes providing defence-ready clinical and support staff across 45+ on-base locations, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on-site medical care.

Enoggera Health Centre, located at Gallipoli Barracks in Brisbane, is the primary base for this position and supports nearby facilities including Victoria, Bulimba, and Damascus Barracks. Established in 1908, Gallipoli Barracks is the largest military base in South Queensland, home to approximately 8,000 members and the Deployable Joint Force Headquarters.

The facility offers a full range of services including primary medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical services. It operates 24/7, with standard operating hours generally between 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday.

You bring a solid knowledge of clinical environments and take pride in maintaining the highest standards of sterilisation and infection control. You enjoy ensuring compliance with relevant standards and guidelines and have excellent communication skills to work effectively with clinical teams.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

• Knowledge of AS/NZS 4187:2014 and AS/NZS 4815:2006 standards for reprocessing medical devices
• Certificate III in Sterilisation Technology or a nationally recognised equivalent qualification
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a central sterilisation department (or part-time equivalent) in an approved facility
