As a Dispensary Assistant/Technician, you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of pharmaceutical services for Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel. Working Monday to Friday between 0730 and 1600, you’ll assist Pharmacists in the provision of safe, efficient, and high-quality pharmaceutical support within a Defence Health Centre environment.

You’ll be responsible for assisting with dispensing duties, managing medical stock, and ensuring the effective coordination and control of medicines and medical stores. Your work will contribute directly to the readiness and wellbeing of ADF members, helping maintain Defence’s high standards of care and governance.

 About ADF Health Services
In partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to ADF personnel across Australia. This includes delivering defence-ready clinical and support staff across more than 45 on-base locations, ensuring personnel have access to quality, on-site medical care.

Enoggera Health Centre, located at Gallipoli Barracks in Brisbane, serves as the primary base for this position and supports nearby facilities including Victoria, Bulimba, and Damascus Barracks. Established in 1908, Gallipoli Barracks is the largest military base in South Queensland, home to approximately 8,000 members and the Deployable Joint Force Headquarters.

This facility provides a full range of services including primary medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical services. It operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with standard operating hours generally between 0700 and 1630, Monday to Friday.

With your experience as a qualified Dispensary Assistant/Technician, you understand the importance of precision, compliance, and collaboration in a healthcare environment. You take pride in supporting pharmacists to deliver safe and efficient care to patients, maintaining accurate records, and managing stock to ensure the smooth operation of the dispensary.

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Have:

• The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
• Certificate qualification as a non-pharmacist Dispensary Assistant/Technician (Dispensary Technicians Course Certificate or equivalent).
• A minimum of 2 years’ full-time experience as a Dispensary Assistant/Technician within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience assisting in the dispensing of medications, managing stock rotation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
