Make an impact at Serco

As a Psychologist at Enoggera Health Centre, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting the diverse mental health needs of Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel. Referrals come from a variety of sources including the member, medical team, and Command, providing a wide range of presentations and support requests.

You will conduct initial intake and assessment with flexibility to meet presenting needs. There is scope to use psychometrics and deliver treatment tailored to your skills, interests, and scope of practice. You will autonomously manage your caseload, including oversight and case management of externally referred cases and providing internal treatment. Your role also includes crisis management, risk assessment, and risk management planning within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

About Enoggera Health Centre

Enoggera Health Centre is located at Gallipoli Barracks in Brisbane and supports Gallipoli, Victoria, Bulimba, and Damascus Barracks. Established in 1908, this large and modern military base covers 600 hectares and is home to approximately 8,000 members. As the largest base in South Queensland, it incorporates the Deployable Joint Force Headquarters, major manoeuvre formations, local support facilities, and extensive training areas.

The health centre provides a comprehensive range of services including primary medical, aviation and underwater medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical care. The facility operates 24/7, with standard operating hours generally from 07:00 to 16:30 Monday to Friday, and weekend shifts depending on role requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Minimum 2 years postgraduate experience within the last 5 years in mental health, working in a primary health or specialist mental health setting, conducting comprehensive assessments and delivering evidence-based treatments under Medicare’s ‘Focussed Psychological Strategies’
  • Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA requirements
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification
  • Knowledge of relevant State/Territory policies and national standards governing mental health practice (desirable)
  • Knowledge of the ADF Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2018-2023 (desirable)
