About your new role
Mental Health Registered Nurses are an important role to our Health Centres. You will work with a multidisciplinary team of medical and allied health professionals on site to provide a wholistic approach to Defence members. Duties include:
- Performing intake assessments and risk assessments
- Providing crisis intervention
- Planning case formulation and treatment planning
- Providing programmatic treatment interventions
- Planning care coordination
- Assisting with medication management
- Conducting group psycho-education
About Enoggera Health Centre
Enoggera Health Centre is located at Gallipoli Barracks in Brisbane, and provides support to Gallipoli, Victoria, Bulimba, and Damascus Barracks. Established in 1908, this modern military base currently spans 600 hectares with approximately 8000 members. This facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The standard operating hours of the centre and your working hours are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Friday
To be successful in this role you’ll have the following:
- Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Be credentialed with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN); OR minimum qualification of Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing; OR Mental Health trained nurse /United Kingdom trained undergraduate Mental Health Nurse
- Minimum of 2 years full-time (or part-time equivalent) Post Registered Nurse general registration experience within the previous 5 years in mental health in a primary health setting or specialist mental health setting
- You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
- You don’t need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian on-base and your job stays here, even if the Defence personnel you care for are deployed.
