About Us  

ADF Health Services provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia.  As part of this contract, Serco, in partnership with Bupa, provide defence-ready clinical and support staff across 50+ on-base locations nationally, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on-site medical care.  

About the Role 

You will be responsible for providing and supervising personal rehabilitation and training programs for patients. You will liaise with allied health professionals regarding patient management, as well as assisting with assessment, treatment, training and maintenance of resources. You will also provide advice on all aspects of physical training and rehabilitation including making recommendations on the fitness of personnel to medical review boards and the engagement of other allied health professionals as necessary. 

This is a Permanent Full Time position working Monday - Friday.

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

  • Australian Citizenship for Baseline Security Clearance purposes
  • The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour. 
  • Tertiary qualification in Exercise or Sport Science as determined by Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA). 
  • Minimum of 2 years full time Post Graduate experience in rehabilitation exercise prescription within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent). 
  • Current membership of ESSA. 
  • Experience working with injured personnel, a working knowledge of rehabilitation processes, and sound exercise prescription strategies for injured populations. 
  • Recent participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with ESSA. 
  • Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification. 

About Wagga Health Centre

The Wagga Health Centre is located at RAAF Base Wagga at Forest Hill, South-East of Wagga Wagga and has been an integral part of the community since 1940.  Known as the “Home of the Airman”, it houses the RAAF schools of Technical Training, Administration & Logistics and Postgraduate Studies.  Services provided include primary medical, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy.  Health Centre staff may be required to work across Wagga & Kapooka. Standard hours of operation are generally 0700-1600 Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).
