Full Time, Monday to Thursday 8 hours and Friday 5 hours

About Wagga Health Centre  

The Wagga Health Centre is located at RAAF Base Wagga at Forest Hill, SE of Wagga Wagga and has been an integral part of the community since 1940.  Known as the “Home of the Airman”, it houses the RAAF schools of Technical Training, Administration & Logistics and Postgraduate Studies.  Services provided include primary medical, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy.  Health Centre staff may be required to work across Wagga & Kapooka. Standard hours of operation are generally 0700-1600 Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).  

What you’ll do  

• Deliver high-quality mental health care to Defence members  

• Conducting fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care. 

• Undertaking assessments, interventions, managing medications, formulating treatment and care plans for individuals and group education sessions  

• Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment where patient wellness is paramount   

What you bring  

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse 

• One of the following: 

• ACMHN credentialed 

• Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing 

• Mental Health trained nurse / UK trained undergraduate Mental Health Nurse 

• Minimum two years’ Post RN general registration experience within last five years in mental health within a Primary Healthcare Setting or Specialist Mental Health Setting   

• Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in ‘Focussed Psychological Strategies’ and ‘Psychological Therapy’ as per Medicare Schedule  

• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)  

• Australian Citizenship required  to obtain Baseline Security Clearance 

• Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
