About the Townsville Health Centre
Townsville Health Centre is located at RAAF Base Townsville, 6.5km outside Townsville. This facility supports more than 1000 regular personnel, as well as visiting Air Force exercise and international members. It is home to the Black Hawk and Chinook helicopters. The health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, dental, nursing, mental health, physiotherapy, and pharmaceutical services. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Thursday (depending on role requirements), and a half day (5.5 hours) Friday
This role is Monday to Thursday day (day shift) within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
What you’ll do
- Delivering safe and accurate dispensing services in line with clinical standards
- Managing medication inventory and supporting efficient pharmacy operations
- Promoting safe and effective use of medications for patients and clinicians
- Providing technical advice and support to health practitioners
- Ensuring compliance with legislation, Defence policies, and quality standards
What you bring
- Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a pharmacist
- Minimum 2 years’ post-internship experience in hospital, community, or defence pharmacy
- Strong understanding of medication safety, dispensing, and inventory management
- Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
- Commitment to ongoing CPD and professional standards
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Membership of PSA or SHPA (desirable)
- Australian Citizenship to obtain required security clearance
