About Townsville Health Centre
Townsville Health Centre is located at RAAF Base Townsville, 6.5km outside Townsville. This facility supports more than 1000 regular personnel, as well as visiting Air Force exercise and international members. It is home to the Black Hawk and Chinook helicopters. The health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, dental, nursing, mental health, physiotherapy, and pharmaceutical services. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Thursday (depending on role requirements), and a half day (5.5 hours) Friday.
What you’ll do
- Work every Thursday and Friday
- Deliver high-quality mental health care to Defence members
- Conducting fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care.
- Undertaking assessments, update care plans for individuals
- Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment where patient wellness is paramount
What you bring
- Current member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker.
- Minimum two years’ full time (or part time equivalent) Post Graduate experience within last five years in mental health within a Primary Healthcare Setting or Specialist Mental Health Setting
- Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in ‘Focussed Psychological Strategies’ and ‘Psychological Therapy’ as per Medicare Schedule
- Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
- Australian Citizenship required (Baseline Security Clearance)
- Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
