If you're studying engineering or naval architecture and want to start applying what you're learning to a real maritime environment, this is an opportunity to build practical experience while completing your degree.
As an Undergraduate Engineer supporting the RSV Nuyina, you'll work alongside experienced engineers, technical specialists and project teams while developing your understanding of professional engineering delivery. You'll gain practical exposure to engineering standards, safety, risk, design and compliance while building the technical skills and judgement that will support your future career.
You'll also have access to engineering mentors who can help turn university theory into practical understanding and give you exposure to how complex maritime engineering work is managed and delivered.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Support engineers with practical engineering and technical activities
- Contribute to engineering service delivery and on-site technical support
- Apply engineering standards, processes and compliance requirements
- Develop your maritime engineering knowledge and professional judgement
- Work alongside engineers, mentors and multidisciplinary project teams
- Build your understanding of safety, risk, design and project management
- Manage assigned work while delivering accurate and timely technical outputs

You'll be studying engineering or naval architecture and ready to gain practical experience in a maritime environment. You'll bring curiosity, initiative and a willingness to learn from experienced engineers and technical specialists, with university projects, placements or practical engineering experience highly regarded. Most importantly, you'll be motivated to develop your technical capability and build a career in engineering.
You'll need:
- Current enrolment at a recognised Australian university in an Engineering or Naval Architecture degree
- Developing technical knowledge and sound engineering judgement
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with engineers, mentors and project teams
- An organised approach to balancing university and professional priorities
- A commitment to safety, environmental compliance and professional development
- The ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Baseline Australian Defence Security Clearance
