Dispensary Technician/Pharmacy Assistant

About the Role

As a Full-Time Dispensary Assistant/Technician, you will support the Pharmacist in the effective operation of the dispensary. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assist with dispensing operations under the supervision of the Pharmacist
• Coordinate the receipt and distribution of incoming stock
• Manage stock rotation and monitoring shelf life to optimise inventory use
• Handle the return or disposal of expired or damaged items in accordance with policy
• Assist with stocktaking of medical and dental supplies in line with Defence policies and procedures
• Provide customer service and general dispensary support as required

About You

As the ideal applicant you will have:

• A certificate-qualified non-pharmacist Dispensary Assistant/Technician qualification, a Dispensary Technicians Course Certificate, or equivalent
• At least 2 years’ full-time experience as a Dispensary Assistant/Technician within the last 5 years
• Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance

About the Location

Robertson Health Centre is located within Robertson Barracks in Holtze, approximately 15 km east of Darwin.

The facility supports approximately 2,800 Defence personnel, along with a significant Reserve component. The Barracks also host an additional 2,500 US Marines on a rotational basis from May to September each year. The Health Centre provides comprehensive services including primary medical, pharmaceutical, dental, physiotherapy, and mental health care, and operates a 22-bed, 24/7 inpatient ward. Standard operating hours are 7:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
