About the Health Centre 

Located on Robertson Barracks in Holtze, 15km East of Darwin.  It is home to the 1st Brigade & 1st Aviation Regiment. The facility has a routine dependency of approximately 2800 members, with a large reserve component. The Barracks also accommodates an additional 2500 US marines every 6 months from May to September. The health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, nursing, pharmaceutical, dental, physiotherapy and mental health services.  It also operates a 22-bed low dependency ward 24/7. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requiremnents and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts). 

 

 

What you’ll do 

  • Keep the clinic running smoothly by providing fast, accurate, and professional clerical and administrative support to health staff and patients.  

  • Manage electronic and hard copy health records and data in accordance with Defence policies, privacy requirements, and compliance standards.  

  • Coordinate appointments and liaise effectively with internal and external health service providers to support continuity of care and timely access to patient information.  

  • Prepare reports, update health and personnel management systems, and assist with auditing activities to support operational and compliance requirements.  

  • Support day-to-day clinic operations through filing, mail distribution, photocopying, ordering stationery and stores, and processing supply requests. 

 

What you bring 

  • Minimum of 1 year of full-time (or part-time equivalent) experience in an administrative role. (Medical setting highly desirable) 

  • Completion of a medical terminology course from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), or willingness to complete 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. 

  • Sound computer literacy and experience with electronic health record systems highly regarded.
