About the Kapooka Health Centre
Kapooka Health Centre & Clinic are approximately 10 minutes outside of Wagga Wagga within the Kapooka Military area located at Blamey Barracks. All soldiers in the Army complete Basic Training here and why it is known as the “Home of the Soldier”. These health facilities support the Army Recruit Training Centre (ARTC). It has a 50-bed low dependency ward which operates 24/7. Services provided include primary medical, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy. Health Centre staff may be required to work across Wagga & Kapooka. Standard hours of operation are generally 0700-1600 Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).
What you’ll do
- Provide a range of evidence-based physiotherapy assessments, treatments and rehabilitative services
- Work with a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries with a focus on functional rehabilitation and returning members to their work and exercise goals.
- Coordinate patient administration, records, and clinic operations
- Support multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient service delivery
- Ensure compliance with Defence policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards
What you bring
- At least 2 years’ part-time or full-time equivalent post-graduate musculoskeletal experience within the last 5 years
- A current, unconditional registration as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA
- Recent engagement in Continuing Professional Development activities aligned with AHPRA guidelines
- A current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (HLTAID009)
- Membership with the Australian Physiotherapy Association (preferred)
- Australian Citizenship required for Baseline Security Clearance
