As a Correctional Supervisor, you’ll lead and support Correctional Case Officers to deliver safe, respectful and effective correctional operations. You’ll oversee the day-to-day management of a designated area while contributing to rehabilitation and reintegration outcomes for inmates. Working closely with operational leaders, you’ll help maintain a secure environment while fostering a culture built on trust, accountability and inclusion. Your leadership will make a meaningful difference to the safety and wellbeing of staff, inmates and the wider community.

As a Correctional Supervisor in the Correctional team at Clarence Correctional Centre you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Managing the daily operational activities of a designated correctional area
  • Supervising, supporting and developing Correctional Case Officers
  • Monitoring inmate safety, accountability and behavioural management processes
  • Maintaining secure operations in line with policies, procedures and legislation
  • Supporting rehabilitation and reintegration outcomes through effective case management practices
  • Responding to operational incidents and emergency situations with professionalism and composure

About Clarence Correctional Centre
Opened in mid-2020, this 1,700-bed state-of-the-art facility is the largest correctional Centre in Australia.

Located on the beautiful NSW North Coast approx. 6 hours' drive from Sydney and 3.5 hours from Brisbane, our region offers rainforests, epic headlands, sand dunes and some of the best Australian beaches, with a variety of multicultural cafes, restaurants and welcoming community towns.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Certificate III in Correctional Practice (essential)
  • Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (to be completed within the first 12 months of employment)
  • Demonstrated experience in a custodial or correctional environment
  • Strong leadership, communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Confidence working within operational procedures, emergency protocols and safety requirements
