We are looking for an Education & Training Officer to join our Inmate Services team, you’ll join a passionate team committed to the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates at Lavadia Correctional Centre in Northern NSW.
You will support the education and training outcomes of inmates through effective coordination and facilitation of education programs. You’ll work closely with trainers, stakeholders and inmates to ensure smooth operation of educational services.
About Clarence Correctional Centre
Opened in mid-2020, this 1,700-bed state-of-the-art facility is the largest correctional Centre in Australia.
Located on the beautiful NSW North Coast, approx. 6 hours' drive from Sydney and 3.5 hours from Brisbane, our region offers rainforests, epic headlands, sand dunes, and some of the best Australian beaches with a variety of multicultural cafes, restaurants, and friendly community towns.
As an Education & Training Officer in the Inmate Services team, you’ll make a positive impact by:
- Supporting the assessment of inmate education needs and assisting with the delivery of courses
- Managing education schedules and coordinating resources for teachers and trainers
- Maintaining learning management systems, including Moodle and inmate databases
- Facilitating communication between inmates and external institutions, including enrolments and exam invigilation
- Overseeing inmate library operations, IT resources, and creative education rooms
- Ensuring documentation and compliance standards are met for all education activities

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- Certification in Education, Training, or Administration (desired, not essential) with the ability to undertake if required
- Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Case Management) or completed within the first 12 months of employment
- Experience in providing education, training, or administrative support in a team environment
- Experience in performing a range of education or administrative functions, including the compilation of statistical data
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining computerised and manual information and or recording systems
- Experience in providing accurate and high-quality data and record-keeping protocols
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
