You are passionate about empowering others and sharing your knowledge in assembly and packaging. As a Trade Instructor – Assembly & Packaging in our Modular Housing team, you’ll play a key role in delivering training and supervision to inmates while ensuring safety and operational excellence. You’ll be part of the Industries & Trades team at Clarence Correctional Centre, the largest correctional facility in Australia. As a Trade Instructor – Textiles in the Industries & Trades team,

you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Delivering hands-on lessons on assembly and packaging processes
  • Supervising and mentoring inmates in safe work practices and quality standards
  • Providing training aligned with RTO requirements
  • Managing inventory, equipment use, and industry documentation
  • Ensuring a safe, compliant work environment, adhering to WHS standards
  • Supporting commercial objectives through efficient production outcomes

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Certificate III or IV in WHS (or willingness to obtain)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or willingness to obtain)
  • Certificate III Correctional Practice or full training will be provided to obtain
  • Experience in an assembly and packaging environment
  • Competency in operating machinery and interpreting assembly instructions
  • Forklift Licence

Opened in mid-2020, this 1,700-bed state-of-the-art facility is the largest correctional Centre in Australia.
