This is a leadership role providing subject matter expertise across Serco's portfolio of justice contracts.

As HSE Manager – Justice, you’ll provide strategic and operational HSE leadership across Serco’s Justice contracts. Working closely with the Justice Senior Leadership Team and HSE leadership, you’ll strengthen safety culture, manage critical risks and ensure robust HSE compliance and assurance across our operations. You'll also be the hands on operational HSE business partner for the Justice Transport Services Victoria contract.
You’ll be a trusted HSE partner to operational leaders, providing practical advice and helping embed strong safety behaviours, systems and controls. You’ll also lead environmental initiatives that support safe, sustainable and high-performing services.
As an HSE Manager – Justice, you’ll make a positive impact by:
- Leading the justice HSE team and continuously improving HSE performance and safety culture across Justice contracts
- Partnering with senior leaders to embed positive safety behaviours, accountability and visible safety leadership
- Developing and improving safe systems of work, incident investigation, risk management and critical controls
- Leading HSE governance, compliance, assurance, reporting and audit activities
- Managing strategic and operational HSE risks and providing practical, commercially focused advice to senior leaders
- Leading environmental compliance and improvement initiatives that support operational performance and responsible environmental management
- Coaching and developing HSE capability across operational teams

You could be a great fit if you have:
- A qualification in Health, Safety or Environment, or with related commercial experience
- Strong HSE leadership experience within a complex, operational environment
- Sound knowledge of HSE legislation, risk management and industry best practice, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Proven experience leading, coaching and influencing leaders to improve HSE culture and performance
- Experience leading HSE systems, organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to balance strategic HSE leadership with practical, hands-on operational support
- Experience in Justice, or related industry would be advantageous
