Make an Impact

Your technical expertise will help keep critical medical and dental equipment serviceable and ready to support Defence healthcare. Based in Moorebank, you'll work with biomedical technicians, warehouse teams and Defence stakeholders to diagnose, test and repair sophisticated electronic and electromechanical equipment.

You'll also contribute to equipment lifecycle planning, inventory management and continuous improvement, helping reduce turnaround times and strengthen Defence healthcare logistics capability.

As a BioMedical Technician, you'll make a positive impact by:

• Diagnose, inspect and repair electronic and electromechanical medical and dental equipment.
• Perform electrical testing and tagging in accordance with Australian Standards requirements.
• Prioritise planned and reactive maintenance with the Capacity Planning team.
• Monitor work in progress and resolve bottlenecks affecting equipment turnaround times.
• Interpret OEM technical specifications, schematics and service documentation.
• Coordinate with planning and procurement teams to maintain parts availability and manage shortages.
• Manage spare-parts MIN/MAX requirements in collaboration with Defence stakeholders.
• Review inventory performance, KPIs and operational data to support forward planning.
• Drive improvements in equipment availability, inventory accuracy and maintenance processes.
• Provide technical advice on equipment condition, integrity and end-of-life requirements.
• Support quality, contractual, WHS and compliance requirements across the MDESS contract.
• Build effective working relationships with Defence stakeholders and teams across the contract.

You'll thrive in this role if you're a hands-on technical professional who enjoys fault finding, solving equipment issues and getting critical equipment back into service.

Your experience may come from biomedical engineering, electronics, electrical, mechatronics, laboratory technology or field service. You'll be confident interpreting OEM documentation, working with diagnostic equipment and collaborating with operational teams and Defence stakeholders.

You'll ideally bring:

• Electronics, electrical, biomedical, mechatronics or field service experience.
• Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving capability.
• Experience with medical equipment, biomedical engineering, healthcare or maintenance services.
• Experience reading technical schematics, OEM documentation and service manuals.
• Confidence using multimeters and diagnostic equipment.
• Knowledge of OEM operations, warranty programmes and technical engagement.
• Experience in inventory management, optimisation or parts coordination.
• A Restricted Electrical Licence.
• Electrical Safety Testing certification.
• Experience in Biomedical Engineering, Laboratory Technology or Electronics is highly regarded.
