About Albatross Health Centre 

Located at Nowra on the South Coast of NSW, approximately 2.5 hours from Sydney CBD.  HMAS Albatross is the largest operational naval establishment in Australia and the Navy’s only air station.  The health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, dental, mental health, physiotherapy, nursing and pharmaceutical services to up to 1500 ADF members.  Standard hours of operation are generally 0730-1530 Monday-Friday, with medical officers on-call for aviation retrievals.   

What you’ll do  

• Deliver high-quality mental health care to Defence members  

• Conducting fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care. 

• Undertaking assessments, interventions, formulating treatment and care plans for individuals and group education sessions  

• Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment where patient wellness is paramount   

What you bring  

• Unrestricted AHPRA general registration as a Psychologist   

• Minimum two years’ Post Graduate experience within last five years in mental health within a Primary Healthcare Setting or Specialist Mental Health Setting   

• Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in ‘Focussed Psychological Strategies’ and ‘Psychological Therapy’ as per Medicare Schedule  

• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)  

• Australian Citizenship required for Baseline Security Clearance 

• Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
