About the Oakey Health Centre
Oakey Health Centre is located at the Army Aviation Centre (AAC) 3km outside Oakey. It is the training area for Australian Army Aviation and is home to the 126 Squadron (Cougar helicopters) of the Republic of Singapore Air Force. With approximately 500 members, the health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, pharmaceutical and mental health services. It is also an emergency response to AAC. Health centre staff may be required to work across Cabarlah & Oakey. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Friday
What you’ll do
- Keep the clinic running smoothly by providing fast, accurate, and professional clerical and administrative support to health staff and patients.
- Manage electronic and hard copy health records and data in accordance with Defence policies, privacy requirements, and compliance standards.
- Coordinate appointments and liaise effectively with internal and external health service providers to support continuity of care and timely access to patient information.
- Prepare reports, update health and personnel management systems, and assist with auditing activities to support operational and compliance requirements.
- Support day-to-day clinic operations through filing, mail distribution, photocopying, ordering stationery and stores, and processing supply requests.
What you bring
- Minimum of 1 year of full-time (or part-time equivalent) experience in an administrative role. (Medical setting highly desirable)
- Completion of a medical terminology course from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), or willingness to complete
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Sound computer literacy and experience with electronic health record systems highly regarded.
