As a Pharmacist, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel by ensuring safe, effective, and efficient medication management. You will provide dispensing services, pharmaceutical advice, and manage health stores while supporting a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

About ADF Health Services

In partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia. This includes providing defence-ready clinical and support staff across 45+ on-base locations, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on-site medical care.

Oakey Health Centre is located at the Army Aviation Centre (AAC), 3km outside Oakey. It is the training area for Australian Army Aviation and home to the 126 Squadron (Cougar helicopters) of the Republic of Singapore Air Force. With approximately 500 members, the health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, pharmaceutical, and mental health services. It also serves as an emergency response centre for AAC. Staff may be required to work across both Cabarlah and Oakey. The standard operating hours are generally 07:00–16:30 Monday to Friday, with shift lengths depending on role requirements.

As a Pharmacist, you will be responsible for:

• Providing dispensing services and pharmaceutical care to ADF personnel in accordance with Defence policy, legislation, and professional standards
• Managing pharmaceutical and medical supplies, including inventory, storage, and compliance with expiry and safety requirements
• Providing clinical advice, training, and support to other health practitioners
• Maintaining accurate patient and pharmacy records using Commonwealth ICT systems

You could be a great fit if you have:

• Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Minimum 2 years full-time post trainee/internship experience (or part-time equivalent) within Defence, hospital, or community pharmacy in the last 5 years
• Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification
