As a Senior Firefighter, you’ll play an important role in delivering 24/7 rescue and firefighting services across a busy airfield environment. You’ll work as part of a skilled and supportive fire and rescue team, responding to aviation, structural and other emergency incidents. Your calm judgement, technical capability and commitment to safety will help protect people, facilities and aircraft when it matters most.

As a Senior Firefighter in the Fire Rescue Services team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

• Responding to aviation, structural and other emergency incidents
• Conducting rescue operations and supporting casualty care when required
• Operating firefighting, rescue and specialist emergency equipment
• Maintaining vehicles, personal protective equipment and breathing apparatus
• Managing control room activities and dispatching emergency resources
• Completing operational checks, logs and incident information accurately

This role will be based in Dubai.

You'll ideally have:

• Two to Five (2-5) years of experience in fire/rescue services including two (2) years as a firefighter at an ICAO Category Five (5) airfield or above.
• Additional fire/rescue work experience may be substituted for up to two (2) years formal education in the ratio of two (2) years’ experience to one (1) years education.
• Military firefighting experience
• Certified ‘Medically Fit’ for the role.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Computer based dispatch/control systems.
• Shall possess fire and rescue qualifications at least equal to the below:
• ICAO Firefighter
• NFPA 1001 Firefighter I/II
• NFPA 1002 Fire Apparatus, Driver/Operator
• NFPA 1003 Airport Firefighter
• NFPA 1061 Public Safety Telecommunicator I/II
• NFPA 472/1072 HAZMAT First Responder Technician Level
• First Aid/Basic Life Support Certification (Essential)
• SCBA Maintenance Technician (Desirable)

• This position carries trust and responsibility. To support this, a comprehensive probity assessment, including a National Police Check, is a key part of the selection process for this role.
• As this role requires an Australian Defence Security Clearance, applicants must be Australian Citizens. If successful, Serco will manage and sponsor the clearance process.
