As Senior Legal Counsel – Employment, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping Serco navigate complex employment and industrial relations matters across Australia and the Asia Pacific region. Working closely with senior leaders, People & Culture teams, and operational stakeholders, you’ll provide expert legal guidance that supports strategic business outcomes while minimising risk. This is a highly influential role where you’ll lead enterprise bargaining activities, represent Serco in employment-related proceedings, and contribute to workplace relations strategies that make a real difference across our diverse operations.

As a Senior Legal Counsel – Employment in the AsPac Legal Team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Leading enterprise bargaining negotiations and industrial relations initiatives
  • Representing Serco in conciliations, mediations, hearings and employment disputes
  • Advising stakeholders on complex employment law, workplace relations and compliance matters
  • Developing and implementing workplace relations strategies aligned to business priorities
  • Partnering with operational, People & Culture and leadership teams to manage workplace issues
  • Coaching and supporting stakeholders to build employment relations capability across the business

  • Significant senior-level experience in employment law, industrial relations or workplace relations
  • Proven experience negotiating Enterprise Agreements and managing industrial negotiations
  • Strong advocacy experience before tribunals, commissions or decision-makers
  • Excellent commercial judgement with the ability to balance legal risk and business outcomes
  • Outstanding relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A current practising certificate with at least seven years' post-qualification experience in employment law
