About the Location

Tindal Health Centre is located at RAAF Base Tindal, 15km outside Katherine, and 320km south-east of Darwin. The facility has a routine dependency of approximately 550 Defence members, surging at regular Air Force exercise periods throughout the year. The health centre provides general medical, aviation medical, nursing, physiotherapy and mental health services.  It also operates a 10-bed inpatient low dependency day ward. Standard operating hours are generally 0730-1600 Monday – Thursday depending on role requirements, and a half day 7:30 – 13:30 Friday.

 

What you’ll do  

  • Be involved in varied musculoskeletal conditions, including sports injuries, post operative (e.g. ACL recon, shoulder recon), loading injuries (e.g. bone stress, shoulder pain, knee pain) and pelvic health, concussion (if within scope).
  • Support members in progressing towards deployment and ADF training exercises
  • Have access to a fully equipped gym to enhance the rehabilitation of members.
  • Work with a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries with a focus on functional rehabilitation and returning members to their work and exercise goals.
  • Work with an active population who are motivated to achieve their best possible functional outcomes.
  • Have a dedicated time for administrative tasks each day
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary team of nurses, doctors, psychologists, and rehabilitation consultants.
  • Improve your understanding of job roles and requirements of the ADF with the opportunity of working closely with ADF members

 

What you bring  

  • At least 2 years’ part-time or full-time equivalent post-graduate musculoskeletal experience within the last 5 years.
  • A current, unconditional registration as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA
  • Recent engagement in Continuing Professional Development activities aligned with AHPRA guidelines
  • A current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (HLTAID009)
  • Membership with the Australian Physiotherapy Association (preferred)
  • Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Baseline Security Clearance
