About Lavarack Health Centre 
Lavarack Health Centre is located in Townsville at Lavarack Barracks, the largest Army base in Australia.  It includes the Operational Deployment Force and facilities to undertake mission rehearsal exercises prior to deployment.  The facility provides primary medical, underwater medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical care to approximately 8000 members.  It also operates a 24/7 inpatient low dependency ward. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Friday

 

What you’ll do 

  • Supporting dispensing activities under the supervision of the Pharmacist 
  • Coordinating receipt and distribution of pharmaceutical stock 
  • Managing stock rotation and monitoring expiry dates 
  • Handling disposal of expired or damaged stock in line with policy 
  • Supporting stocktakes of medical and dental supplies 
  • Providing customer service and general dispensary support 

 

What you bring 

  • Dispensary Assistant/Technician qualification or equivalent 
  • Recent experience in a pharmacy or dispensary environment 
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Commitment to maintaining clinical and safety standards 
  • Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain Defence clearance
