Physiotherapist – Lavarack Health Centre – Casual

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Lavarack Health Centre on a casual basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver high-quality physiotherapy care to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel while working in a supportive and professional clinical environment.
In this role, you will provide evidence-based physiotherapy assessment, treatment, rehabilitation services and play an important role in supporting the physical readiness and recovery of Defence members.

About the Lavarack Health Centre
Located in Townsville at Lavarack Barracks, the largest Army base in Australia, Lavarack Health Centre supports the Operational Deployment Force and provides facilities to undertake mission rehearsal exercises prior to deployment.
The health centre delivers a wide range of services including primary medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, pharmaceutical and specialist services to approximately 8,000 personnel.
The facility also operates a 24/7 inpatient low dependency ward, providing comprehensive healthcare services on base. Standard operating hours are generally 0700–1630 Monday to Friday.
What you’ll do
• Deliver evidence-based physiotherapy assessments, treatments and rehabilitation programs
• Provide exercise prescription, gym-based rehabilitation programs and return-to-work rehabilitation support
• Provide hydrotherapy and clinical exercise programs in accordance with professional guidelines
• Apply electrotherapy modalities safely and appropriately
• Provide advice, education and recommendations to patients and healthcare professionals
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including Physical Training Instructors to support patient recovery and operational readiness
• Maintain accurate patient records, manage bookings and support administrative requirements
What you bring
• Current, unrestricted registration as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA
• Minimum 2 years full-time post graduate musculoskeletal physiotherapy experience within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent)
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
• Evidence of continuing professional development in line with AHPRA requirements
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Australian Citizenship to obtain required security clearance
