Are you a Physiotherapist looking to make a meaningful impact in a unique healthcare setting?

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Lavarack Health Centre working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver high-quality physiotherapy care to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel while working in a supportive and professional clinical environment.

In this role, you will provide evidence-based physiotherapy assessment, treatment, rehabilitation services and play an important role in supporting the physical readiness and recovery of Defence members.

About the Lavarack Health Centre
Lavarack Health Centre is located in Townsville at Lavarack Barracks, the largest Army base in Australia.  It includes the Operational Deployment Force and facilities to undertake mission rehearsal exercises prior to deployment.  The facility provides primary medical, underwater medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical care to approximately 8000 members.  It also operates a 24/7 inpatient low dependency ward. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Friday

 

What you’ll do  

  • Provide a range of evidence-based physiotherapy assessments, treatments and rehabilitative services  
  • Work with a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries with a focus on functional rehabilitation and returning members to their work and exercise goals. 
  • Coordinate patient administration, records, and clinic operations   
  • Support multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient service delivery   
  • Ensure compliance with Defence policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards Shape  


What you bring  

  • At least 2 years’ part-time or full-time equivalent post-graduate musculoskeletal experience within the last 5 years 
  • A current, unconditional registration as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA 
  • Recent engagement in Continuing Professional Development activities aligned with AHPRA guidelines 
  • A current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (HLTAID009) 
  • Membership with the Australian Physiotherapy Association (preferred) 
  • Australian Citizenship required for Baseline Security Clearance
