About the Role
We’re looking for a Part-Time Registered Nurse to join our team at Lavarack Health Centre in Townsville. This role is weekend-based, with Saturday and Sunday shifts available:
- Day: 07:00 – 15:30
- Night: 22:45 – 07:15
You’ll work in a low-dependency inpatient ward alongside a close-knit team of RNs and ENs, providing acute care to active defence members in a highly supportive and professional environment.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- A commitment to high ethical standards and personal integrity
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (unrestricted and unconditional)
- At least 12 months recent experience in acute care, primary healthcare, or a military setting
- Evidence of recent CPD activity as per AHPRA guidelines
- Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
- Australian Citizenship (mandatory for Baseline Security Clearance)
- No Defence Force enlistment required – this is a civilian position, and your role stays on-base even if the personnel are deployed
About Lavarack Health Centre
Based at Australia’s largest Army base in Townsville, Lavarack Barracks is home to the Operational Deployment Force. The health centre supports around 8,000 members, offering a full range of services: primary and underwater medicine, surgical outpatients, mental health, dental, pharmacy, and physiotherapy. It also features a 24/7 inpatient ward to support ongoing care needs.
