Make an impact at Serco

As a Case Manager at ASCF, you'll provide end-to-end case management to support safer communities. You will assess rehabilitation and reintegration needs, create and monitor management plans, and work directly with men in our care to motivate change. This is a full-time position, reporting to the Principal Case Manager, and based in Wiri, Auckland.

As a Case Manager, you'll make a positive impact by:

• Assessing prisoner needs using specialist assessment tools (e.g. SDAC-21)
• Developing and reviewing Prisoner Management Plans in line with practice standards
• Delivering brief interventions and motivating positive behaviour change
• Chairing case conferences and coordinating rehabilitation and reintegration activities
• Preparing Parole Board reports and attending hearings where required
• Collaborating with Reintegration Officers, Probation Officers and community partners

To be successful in this role you'll have:

• Knowledge and experience working effectively with Māori and Pasifika people
• Warm, empathetic and non-judgemental style, with strong communication skills
• Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and related contemporary issues
• Strong written and IT skills, with the ability to make defensible practice decisions
• Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Psychology, Criminology, Social Work)

Experience that will support your success could include:

• Background in rehabilitative services, allied health, psychology, social work or related areas
• Knowledge of case management and reintegration practice
• Experience working with prisoner groups (e.g. youth, Māori, Pasifika)
• Exposure to the criminal justice or broader human services sector
• Community engagement and stakeholder liaison experience
• Understanding and application of Tikanga Māori and Kaupapa Māori in custodial settings

Please note:

• Ability to maintain Ministry of Justice and NZ Police vetting clearances
• Authorisation/clearance by the New Zealand Department of Corrections, as appropriate
