Make an impact at Serco

As a Programme Facilitator in the Programmes and Interventions team, reporting to the Programmes & Interventions Manager, you’ll make a positive impact by delivering life-changing rehabilitation programmes to men at Kohuora Auckland South Corrections Facility. You’ll play a critical role in motivating and empowering participants to make meaningful change, with a strong focus on better outcomes for Māori. You'll work collaboratively in a supportive team that’s passionate about making a difference.

As a Programme Facilitator in the Programmes and Interventions team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Planning, preparing and delivering evidence-based rehabilitative programmes

  • Motivating and encouraging prisoners to take ownership of their rehabilitation

  • Acting as a pro-social role model, demonstrating ethical and reflective practice

  • Supporting better outcomes for Māori through culturally responsive facilitation

  • Collaborating with case management, custodial and support services teams

  • Upholding safety, wellbeing and compliance standards in a secure environment

You could be a great fit if you have:

  • Formal qualifications in psychology, counselling, psychotherapy, criminology, social work or other related studies. Adult learning training or facilitation is an advantage

  • Experience delivering group programmes/interventions; being certified to deliver Department of Corrections rehabilitation programmes is an advantage

  • A proven track record of planning and preparing programme sessions and monitoring progress to enable optimal participation and effective learning to the men in our care

  • An ability to collaborate with colleagues, particularly in the areas of programme delivery, case management and custodial services

  • The ability to demonstrate the highest levels of personal integrity, ethical behaviour, learning quickly and being open to reflective practice and receiving feedback

  • Experience in confidently and professionally networking both internally and externally

  • A commitment to better outcomes for Māori and an appreciation for the partnership principles in the te Tiriti o Waitangi
