Where you’ll be working

Set in the Perth Hills at Wooroloo, Acacia Prison is approximately 55 km east of Perth, offering a unique opportunity to work outside the CBD while remaining within easy reach of the city. The facility is around a 30-minute drive from Midland, making it accessible for those living across Perth’s eastern suburbs and surrounding areas.

You’ll be joining a professional and multidisciplinary environment where rehabilitation, safety and positive change are at the heart of the work.

Where you’ll make an impact

As Clinical Manager – Offender Programs, you’ll provide strategic and clinical leadership across Acacia’s Programs team, working with Psychologists, Social Workers and Program Facilitators.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading, mentoring and developing a multidisciplinary clinical team
• Overseeing the delivery of structured, evidence-based rehabilitation programs
• Providing clinical supervision and supporting high standards of practice
• Using treatment needs analysis to shape effective program delivery
• Driving innovation, continuous improvement and best-practice approaches
• Managing team performance against contractual and clinical outcomes
• Building strong relationships across the prison and with external stakeholders
• Contributing to initiatives that support reducing reoffending and through-care

You’ll have the opportunity to influence not only how programs are delivered, but how the broader rehabilitation strategy continues to evolve.

Acacia’s Programs Department delivers offence-specific interventions targeting areas including violence and addiction. Programs are designed to encourage, challenge and empower participants to make positive and pro-social choices.

As Clinical Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in bringing that vision to life — balancing clinical excellence, people leadership, operational requirements and the needs of a complex prisoner population.

You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to Acacia’s Through Care Model, Drug Strategy Committee and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Committee, working collaboratively across the wider Reducing Reoffending team.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for an experienced clinical leader who is confident working in complex environments and passionate about creating meaningful change.

You’ll need:

• A degree in Social Work with full AASW membership
• Experience leading a multidisciplinary team delivering psychological services or programs
• Experience providing clinical supervision to Psychologists and Social Workers
• Strong understanding of structured cognitive behavioural approaches
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and people leadership skills
• a strong understanding of the Risk-Need-Responsivity (RNR) Model, and the Good Lives Model (GLM) approach to offender rehabilitation. 

Experience working in corrections, welfare or another institutional setting will be highly regarded.

Experience working with young adult offenders, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culturally and linguistically diverse communities and other at-risk groups is also highly valued.

AHPRA Board Approved Supervisor status for Psychologists is desirable for this role and would be highly regarded.
