As a Medication Assistant, you will play an essential role within the Clinical Healthcare Team at Acacia Prison. You will provide dedicated support to Registered Nurses and Clinical Nurses in the safe preparation, administration and management of medications for the custodial population. The role operates strictly within a delegated framework under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Clinical Nurse in accordance with the WA Medicines and Poisons Act 2014, NSQHS Standard 4(Medication Safety) and Acacia Prison Health Services medication management protocols. We have full-time and casual opportunities available, role based in Wooroloo, WA. 

You could be a great fit if you have: 

• Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (HLT33115) or Certificate IV in Health Services Assistance (HLT43015) or equivalent qualification from a registered training organisation (RTO) or demonstrated equivalency through prior learning and clinical competency assessment. 
• Medication Administration competency certificate, formal training and demonstrated competency in medication assistance/administration as required by Acacia Prison Health Services and the supervising nursing team 
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certificate  
• First Aid Certificate
