As a Social Worker within the Psychological Health Services (PHS) team at Acacia Prison, you will provide psychological assessment and intervention to inmates for a broad range of presenting issues. There is a specific focus on suicide and self- harm risk assessment and crisis intervention. Psychological Health Services also provide other goal-directed, psychological interventions appropriate for a forensic population. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Wooroloo, WA. 

 

You could be a great fit if you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work; AND eligibility for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)  
  • Solid understanding of evidence based practices in the assessment and intervention of different psychological and behavioural presentations 
  • Demonstrated experience in providing individual counselling, preferably within a correctional, welfare or similiar institutional environment
  • Proven ability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver psychological services and programs
  • Exceptional report writing abilities, producing accurate and defensible documentation
