Your Opportunity
We are looking for an ELV Systems Technician who will ensure satisfactory completion of the allocated planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and remedial repairs on the Fire Alarm and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) services and the associated equipment contained in and around the contract/facility.
The ideal candidate should be Able to foster good relations with colleagues and other departments and be a good team player. Someone who has good communication skills, flexibility, excellent attention to detail and ability to identify key issues. Able to work under stringent deadlines and high-pressure environment.
This role is part of our Technical team In ADIA contract - Abu Dhabi.
Key Accountabilities
- Carry out and oversee the planned and reactive maintenance on the Fire Alarm System (including smoke and heat detection) & ELV systems such as, CCTV, Access Control, Intercom, PA, Data Networks, Lighting control, Car park management system, Pnuematic Tube system, Satellite & TV Networks etc. and associated equipment.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and/or repair the Fire / ELV Equipment, systems and maintain and update records on a daily basis.
- Manage the specialist subcontractors and/or obligations of the equipment Defects Liability Period accordingly.
- Conduct regular tests on the equipment to determine operating reliability and efficiently.
- Manage the requisition of tools, spare parts and consumables.
- Provide end users with oral and/or written instructions for Fire / ELV equipment operation and maintenance.
- Assist in monitoring utility consumption, collation of consumption figures, and update records as required.
- Integrate and communicate effectively with other trade staff (Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC and Civil) as required.
- Maintain up to date knowledge for the safe and efficient performance of all duties.
- Participate in overtime, shift work and/or out of hours working as governed by the necessity to maintain continuity of operation of essential plant and systems.
Specific Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a large complex service organisation
- Experience of direct line management of staff.
- Experience in employment relations issues i.e. Disciplinary procedures, absence control etc.
- Diploma/degree in computer, electronic or IT Engineering
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- IT and word processing skills.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines in a demanding environment
