Your Opportunity  

The Sustainability Advisory Director will be responsible for developing and executing a market strategy to position the organization as a leading provider of sustainability advisory services across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This role requires a strategic leader with the ability to build and lead a high-performing advisory team, foster strong client relationships, and drive revenue growth by delivering innovative and impactful solutions to clients in both the public and private sectors. The Director will also ensure the financial sustainability and operational efficiency of the advisory practice, with a strong focus on sound financial management and cash flow optimization.

This role is part of our Sustainability Advisory Leadership in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Key Accountabilities

Strategic Market Development

• Develop and execute a comprehensive market strategy to establish and grow the sustainability advisory practice in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), aligned with national and regional priorities such as Vision 2030.

• Identify and capitalize on market opportunities in sustainability, including energy transition, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) advisory, and circular economy initiatives.

• Position the organization as a thought leader by participating in key conferences, publishing industry insights, and engaging in public forums.

Financial Oversight and Cash Management

• Ensure the financial health of the sustainability advisory practice by monitoring budgets, revenues, and expenditures.

• Develop and implement strategies to optimize cash flow, including timely collections and adherence to financial obligations.

• Safeguard the organization’s financial interests through effective pricing strategies, risk assessments, and client contract negotiations.

• Collaborate with finance teams to deliver accurate financial forecasting aligned with broader organizational objectives.

• Establish robust mechanisms for monitoring financial performance, proactively identifying and addressing variances to maintain profitability.

Team Leadership and Development

• Recruit, develop, and lead a multidisciplinary team capable of delivering world-class sustainability advisory solutions.

• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence within the advisory practice.

• Provide mentorship and career development opportunities to support continuous professional growth and talent retention.

Client Relationship Management

• Build and nurture strategic relationships with senior executives, government stakeholders, and industry leaders across KSA.

• Understand clients’ sustainability challenges and objectives, delivering tailored solutions that create measurable environmental, social, and economic value.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for high-profile clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and long-term partnerships.

Advisory Service Delivery

• Oversee the design and execution of sustainability advisory services, ensuring they meet client needs and industry best practices.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate technical, regulatory, and strategic expertise into comprehensive client solutions.

• Monitor and evaluate the impact of advisory engagements, providing data-driven insights for continuous improvement.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the advisory practice, including revenue growth, client acquisition, and project outcomes.

• Deliver regular reports and strategic insights to senior leadership, supporting informed organizational planning and decision-making.

• Maintain up-to-date records of client interactions, proposals, financial metrics, and project milestones using CRM and related systems.

Specific Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is highly desirable.

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in sustainability, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.

• Proven track record of leadership in sustainability advisory, with a strong focus on the Middle East or KSA market.

• Demonstrated success in business development and market expansion within sustainability advisory services.

• Experience in building and managing high-performing teams in a fast-paced, client-oriented environment.

• In-depth knowledge of sustainability trends, ESG frameworks, and the regulatory landscape.

• Familiarity with KSA’s sustainability priorities, including Vision 2030 and regional environmental objectives.

• Proven experience in managing financial performance, including budget adherence, financial forecasting, and effective cash collection.

• Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow / Green / Black Belt preferred.
