Your Opportunity  

We are looking for an ATC Training Instructor would be responsible for the planning and execution of the training program to meet GCAA requirements along with assisting in the development of the Sharjah Training Centre for Airports Science.

 

The ideal candidate should demonstrate communication skills in a multi-cultural environment, work independently under stringent deadlines and high-pressure environment and see problems as opportunities and to manage well under pressure.

 

This role will be based in Sharjah Training Centre for Airports Science in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. 

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct training as per the Training Centre policies and procedures as directed by the Chief Instructor.

  • Overall responsibility for ensuring satisfactory integration of all training provided and for supervising the progress of the persons undertaking training.

  • Responsible for coordinating and delegating the contact to the competent authority in training-related issues.

  • Deliver course in accordance with the training plan

  • Ensure proper continuity of Theoretical Knowledge and Practical Instruction for all students attending the course.

  • Monitor and report on student progress and provide guidance and support to individual students.

  • Development of ATS theoretical and simulator training programs and exercises in accordance with National and International training policies, procedures and standards.

  • The provision of trainings in accordance with training plans, STCAS policies and procedures and ICAO training requirements, inclusive of initial, experienced and continual training.

  • Advising the Head of Training on all issues pertaining to training.

  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of the capabilities and configuration of the Simulation systems and equipment.

  • Develop dedicated training material / manuals to meet the requirements of specific courses in accordance with requirements.

  • Ensure that trainees meet all training objectives to an acceptable standard as defined within the STCAS Training Plans.

 

Specific Requirements 

  • Must have completed a Train the Trainer Course (Classroom Instructor Technique).

  • Comprehensive knowledge of ATC procedures, ATS standards and industry best practices.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of ICAO Rules and Regulations pertaining to the operations and delivery of ATS.

  • Must be computer literate and proficient in the use of current mainstream application software required for the management of a modern unit, including word processing/desktop publishing, spreadsheet and graphic presentations.

  • Professional qualification appropriate to the subject should ensure sufficient level of current knowledge, which is relevant to the subject and its application in air traffic control.

  • Holds an air traffic controller licence and/or holds a professional qualification appropriate to the subject being taught and/or has demonstrated adequate knowledge and experience to the training organisation.

  • Has demonstrated instructional skills to the training organisation and the satisfaction of Head of Training and Chief Instructor.

  • Experience in the evaluation of student performance and subsequent delivery of relevant reports.

  • Possess excellent report writing skills and has the ability to prepare reports and when required present these to the Head of Training.

  • Possession of good IT skills.

  • Experience in a multi-cultural environment is preferred.

  • Middle East experiences is preferred.
