Location: Flexibly across the BCLT contract
Working Hours: 40 hours per week (mostly Monday to Friday, with some evenings and weekends during events)
Salary: Between £37,000 - £44,000.00 per annum + excellent benefits + company car

Birmingham Community Leisure Trust is the largest contract within the Serco Leisure Team. It is made up of Ladywood, Beeches, Wyndley, Northfield, Stetchford, Erdington, Cocks Moors, Billesley and Fox Hollies Leisure Centres and they have recently acquired Alexander Stadium, which is one of the UK’s leading athletics venues – a world-class facility that played centre stage at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
As General Manager in our Leisure Team, you’ll lead multiple leisure centres, ensuring they’re safe, welcoming and high performing. You’ll provide strong leadership to your teams, support the Contract Manager, and focus on creating outstanding experiences for our communities.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and manage multiple leisure centres, ensuring facilities are safe, warm, clean, friendly and fun.
- Develop and deliver robust strategies and annual plans with the Contract Manager to meet business and contractual targets.
- Drive a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation and Serco standards.
- Foster customer service excellence and build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders and partners.
- Provide effective leadership to managers and teams, focusing on engagement, development and performance.
- Ensure financial management and operational excellence, achieving key performance indicators and service standards.
What you’ll bring:

- A proven ability to lead and inspire teams, developing talent and creating a culture of high performance.
- Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues and drive improvements.

- A track record of achieving challenging objectives and delivering results at pace.
