As a Youth Engagement Coordinator in our Employment, Skills and Training team at Restart, you’ll play a key role in attracting, engaging, and inspiring young people aged 16-25 to take part in meaningful community programmes that shape their future.

 

You’ll create a welcoming, inclusive environment where young people feel confident to explore opportunities, build life skills, and move towards education, employment, and wellbeing pathways. Your work will have a positive impact on communities by supporting those who may be disengaged, helping them reconnect and thrive.

 

What you’ll do as a Youth Engagement Coordinator
You’ll be entrusted to:

 

  • Proactively engage young people through outreach in schools, colleges, and community settings
  • Build trusted relationships that encourage ongoing participation and personal growth
  • Deliver informal drop-in sessions and themed activities focused on wellbeing and employability
  • Provide mentoring, guidance, and practical support such as CV writing and job applications
  • Support access to education, training, employment, and local services
  • Work with partners and stakeholders to strengthen community engagement and outcomes

 

Does this sound like you?
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

 

  • Experience working with young people in community, youth, or engagement-focused roles
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust and rapport quickly
  • Experience delivering informal group activities or engagement sessions
  • Understanding of safeguarding and supporting vulnerable individuals
  • The ability to adapt your approach to meet diverse needs
  • Competent IT skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK Driving Licence and own vehicle

 

Vetting and checks:
An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
