As a Kitchen Porter in our catering team, you’ll play a vital role in keeping the kitchen running smoothly and safely. Your work helps ensure high-quality food is prepared in a clean, organised environment that supports colleagues and customers alike.
This is a hands-on role with real purpose. By maintaining hygiene standards and supporting food preparation, you’ll help create positive dining experiences and contribute to a service that our communities rely on every day.
What you’ll do as a kitchen porter
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness across kitchen areas, equipment and workstations
- Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment efficiently and safely
- Support basic food preparation tasks, including peeling, chopping and portioning ingredients
- Follow food safety, hygiene and health regulations at all times
- Assist with stock rotation, storage and labelling of ingredients
- Help receive, check and unpack kitchen deliveries
