Serco is looking for a Site Security Officer to support the Security Manager to achieve all contractual compliance activities. Provide the day to day management of 13 employees in accordance with Serco SMS policies & standards, GSOPs CSOPs DSOPs and all Skynet LOPs. Comply with Serco Management Systems: Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Standardsfuture contracts.
Main Accountabilities:
- The provision/management of physical security.
- Ensure employees are aware of the current security regulations and/or level of Security State alerts.
- The management and supervision of 13 employees within your team.
- Provide input into the development of processes & procedures.
- Ensure employees compete training as identified in the training matrix.
- Assist with security exercises and provide feedback on the outcome.
- Ensure your team have the appropriate resources required to carry out their duties.
- Ensure return to work interviews are completed in accordance with the Serco Absence Management Policy.
- Ensure all East Security employees hold a current Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence and welfare; first aid and training requirements are managed in accordance with the SIA Approved Contractor Scheme requirements.
- Ensure all security employees are First Aid qualified.
- Ensuring Security Staff Performance reviews (My Catchup) are completed.
- In line with KPI requirements, carry out PM documentation and maintain records.
- Oversite of the site key and document registries, including document control, dispatches and destructions; provide training and assistance were necessary.
- Carry out combination changes in line with current security requirements and document.
- Ensure departments reports are completed at all levels and provide contractual KPI information to the Security Manager.
- Ensure the physical security measures in place are checked weekly and all faults reported immediately.
- Ensure site security upgrades & maintenance are carried out to a satisfactory specification and staff have been given any necessary training.
- Work in close liaison with onsite customer security lead.
- Assisting in the formalisation of security procedures.
- Give on-site security briefings & advice.
- Authorising the production of Access Control Cards and the maintenance of records.
- In liaison with the contract Vetting & Access Co-Ordinator Access Controller assist in the vetting process by acting as the focal on-site point of contact and assisting in their absence.
- Ensure Workplace Inspections are carried out as requested by any of the security or H&S management chain.
- At site level, liaise with Local Security Services (Civilian Police, Ministry of Defence Police & CTSA) to ensure appropriate emergency response procedures are in place.
- Any other duties as detailed by the Security manager
What you will need to do the role:
- Previous experience within a Secure Area environment
- An understanding of GovS 007 & JSP440 documents or similar experience.
- In-depth knowledge of MOD procedures relating to document controls, classifications, handling, transport, storage and destruction of Protectively Marked Assets.
- Experienced manager and/or senior supervisor.
- A proven track record in leading team.
- Experience of working in a customer focused environment
- Computer literacy, conversant with the MS Office Professional Software
- suite or similar integrated software packages.
- Excellent oral and writing interpersonal skills
- Full UK Driving License.
