Salary: Agenda For Change band 4, £31,537 plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Permanent, Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm (plus on call 4pm to 8am, 1 week out of 4)

As a Joiner in our Estates team, you’ll help maintain, repair and improve the hospital environment, ensuring buildings, facilities and infrastructure remain safe, functional and fit for purpose. Your expertise will support the delivery of essential healthcare services while creating a positive impact for patients, visitors and colleagues.

What you’ll do as a Joiner

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, repairs and improvement works across hospital buildings and infrastructure.
• Undertake building fabric repairs, installations and maintenance activities in line with relevant regulations, procedures and safety requirements.
• Interpret technical drawings, specifications and maintenance instructions to deliver high-quality workmanship.
• Diagnose faults, complete repairs and support maintenance activities across a range of building-related disciplines.
• Accurately complete work orders, service sheets, test certificates and maintenance records using computerised systems where required.
• Liaise with Maintenance Officers, colleagues, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure maintenance activities are completed effectively and safely.

 
Does this sound like you?

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in joinery, with the ability to carry out maintenance, repair and installation work to a high standard.
• Knowledge of health and safety practices, including the safe use of tools, equipment and permit-to-work systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
• Good communication and customer care skills, ideally gained within a healthcare, facilities management or similar environment.
• A team-focused approach with a willingness to learn, share knowledge and support apprentices, trainees and colleagues.
• Full, Clean UK Driving Licence

Vetting and checks:

This role requires membership of the PVG Scheme, which involves a detailed check of spent and unspent convictions and other relevant information to ensure safeguarding compliance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can provide any necessary support to help you carry out your responsibilities.
