Here at Serco, within our Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contract (AASC), we focus on assisting individuals through the asylum system, ensuring that vulnerable asylum seekers have access to the support they need along with a high standard of accommodation.
We are recruiting for a Facilities Manager (FM) to join our Operations Management Team, providing property management, reactive maintenance, and pre-planned maintenance across our large sites to ensure compliant delivery of the AASC contract. You will be responsible for managing multiple large accommodation sites across the Northwest, Midlands, and East of England, ensuring they are fully compliant with statutory regulations and maintained to the highest standard.This is a demanding and fast-paced role, requiring strong leadership and proven experience in facilities management. Working closely with your team and external contractors, you'll ensure exceptional service delivery, cost-effective operations, and full statutory and contractual compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of all contracted FM services, ensuring statutory and contractual compliance.
- Manage and coordinate Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure that all contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are consistently met and reported in line with statutory requirements and the contract Business Plan.
- Manage external contractors across a wide range of services, including hard services, fire systems, lifts, hygiene, waste management, and other outsourced provisions.
- Monitor and manage budgets, ensuring financial viability and operational efficiency.
- Support wider property issues across the contract, collaborating with operational managers.
What you’ll need to do the role
- Demonstrable experience in Facilities Management, preferably across multiple sites.
- Strong understanding and application of Health & Safety regulations, Environmental legislation, Quality Assurance, and COSHH requirements.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage both people and processes effectively.
- Proven ability to manage contractors and deliver high-quality service in a challenging environment.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with strong organisational skills.
- Valid UK driving licence - flexibility is a must for this field-based role, you must be willing to travel regularly within the region, and when required within the UK to fulfil the roles required commitment.
