As a Route Planning Lead in our Environmental Services team, you’ll design innovative and effective routing solutions that shape how we deliver waste, recycling, cleansing, and grounds maintenance services. Your work will help ensure our services are efficient, customer-focused, and sustainable.
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Design and optimise routing solutions across multiple Environmental Services contracts.
- Use route software to develop efficient routes for recycling, cleansing, and grounds maintenance services.
- Support contract teams during route changes with technical expertise and updates.
- Produce and implement detailed mobilisation plans for route changes.
- Research, analyse, and test routing options to ensure solutions are robust and deliverable.
- Collaborate with IT colleagues to integrate routing software with wider systems.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to refine requirements and build workable solutions.
- Share knowledge and coach colleagues to build routing expertise across contracts.

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with confidence using data to shape solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
- Experience using Webaspx route optimisation software.
- The ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes at all levels.
- A proven track record of delivering change and improvements in complex environments.
- GCSEs in English and Maths (essential), with further study in Business or Environmental Science desirable.
- Willingness to travel to contracts across the UK, with occasional overnight stays.
