As a FMO Driver in our Defence team, you’ll play a vital role in supporting United States Air Force personnel as they settle into their homes across the UK. Your work helps ensure a smooth transition during what can be a demanding time, delivering comfort and stability where it matters most.
Every delivery you make has purpose. From installing essential household appliances to carefully placing furniture, you’ll directly support service personnel and their families. Your attention to detail and care will help create safe, welcoming living environments, contributing to a positive experience during relocation and strengthening trust in the service we provide.
What you’ll do as a FMO Driver
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Safely load, transport and unload furniture and appliances, ensuring items are protected and correctly handled
- Deliver, position and install household goods in customers’ homes with care and precision
- Test and demonstrate white goods to ensure safe and correct operation
- Carry out warehouse duties including cleaning, testing and preparing furniture and appliances
- Maintain vehicles, tools and equipment to required standards
- Provide a professional and supportive service to customers during home moves, responding to their needs with care

- Strong communication skills with a polite and customer-focused approach
- The ability to work well as part of a team and support colleagues
- Good physical fitness and the ability to safely lift and move heavy items
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills across different tasks
- A commitment to safety, quality and delivering a reliable service
- SC clearance or have no issues obtaining one
- A full UK driving licence
This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
